Rivets are permanent mechanical fasteners used across a variety of industries. In the waste industry we see rivets used to join material together, such as metal sheets. Their purpose is to create a strong bond and they do so because of their build. They are built out of smooth cylindrical shafts with a head on one end and are installed by deforming the opposite end to create a second head. Rivets are known for their durability. If properly installed they should be secure and maintenance-free. We see rivets used in the construction of hoppers, containers, bins and securing panels on trucks. Rivets provide a tamper-proof fastening solution that can support weight and impact of waste without coming apart.
